Quién soy y esta culebra

Un retrato honesto de la mujer, la mamá y la escritora detrás de La madre de la culebra.

A well-worn wooden writing desk in a small, cozy Chilean apartment, its surface scattered with an open notebook filled with looping handwriting, a slightly crooked ceramic mug of herbal tea, a dog-eared novel in Spanish, and a single baby rattle lying unexpectedly among the pages. Soft morning light enters through a nearby window with gauzy curtains, casting gentle, elongated shadows and illuminating tiny dust particles in the air. A knitted blanket drapes over the back of a simple chair, hinting at interrupted reading and late-night reflections. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, focusing sharply on the notebook and rattle, while the background bookshelves and potted plant blur into a warm, intimate, quietly playful atmosphere.
A small, cluttered kitchen table in a Santiago apartment, its worn surface hosting an open journal with handwritten reflections, a paperback novel of Chilean literature, a chipped ceramic mate gourd, and a colorful baby bottle set off to the side. Through the nearby window, blurred hints of city buildings and distant hills suggest an urban Chilean neighborhood. Golden hour sunlight streams in low, bathing the table in a warm glow and casting long, soft shadows that emphasize the textures of paper, wood, and ceramic. Photographic realism, eye-level composition with rule-of-thirds framing, focusing on the open journal as the main subject. The atmosphere feels lived-in, authentic, and slightly chaotic yet tender, suggesting real stories of motherhood, reading, and self-discovery unfolding in an ordinary space.

A neatly made bed with crumpled, brightly patterned quilt in a modest Latin American bedroom, its center occupied by an open laptop displaying a blank document, surrounded by a spiral notebook with colorful sticky notes, a fountain pen, and a stack of half-read books marked with mismatched bookmarks. Beside the pillow, a soft plush snake toy coils playfully, echoing the theme of unexpected motherhood. Afternoon light filters through partially closed blinds, creating stripes of warm illumination across the bedding. The mood is introspective yet playful, capturing the tension between creative ambitions and everyday life. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle, with shallow depth of field emphasizing the laptop and plush snake while the rest gently blurs, evoking a space of personal growth and late-night writing sessions.
